Snoopy
Dean
Peanuts, Star Wars, He-Man, and Lego encompassed my childhood world. My mother, my brother, and I painted a tree on the wall behind my bed where, on a branch, she hung her hand-crafted, fabric bird’s nest which fit my favorite Peanut’s character and stuffed animal, Woodstock. So, after decades, when I came across this old relic from my youth, yellowed, its foot broken off, it felt deeply symbolic. I want to capture this, erosion of my childhood.
I had been away from a paintbrush for a few years and found myself back in an Illustration class. I wanted to challenge myself, see how rusty my skills were, and see how far I could push them.
